No Down Payment?

Hi ! I'm Amy, and this is my husband, Chris. I teach school at East Millbrook Intermediate School. Chris works with Custom Molders, Inc., a firm that manufactures components for automobiles.

We were pulling a flyer out of a box, in Wake Forest when Tim Burrell came by. He showed us another house, and we got to talking. With Tim, it’s easy to start talking about everything. His daughter is a teacher also, so he has a soft spot for my profession. Don’t get him started on how teachers should be paid better! He told us about his Team for YOUR Dreams, his group that could make our dreams of a home come true.

I also work as a hostess at Lucky 32, one of Tim’s favorite restaurants in North Raleigh, in addition to going to school. He said that since we were working so hard for our future, we should not be paying for our landlord’s investments, but getting our own home. Chris and I wanted to start our marriage in our own home, instead of dealing with all of the other tenants in the apartment complex. Don’t get me wrong, they are nice people, but I would rather have space around me. Also, I can deduct my mortgage payment and my property taxes from my income tax.

Since we are just starting out, Chris and I did not have much available cash. Tim said we had everything we need, a job and a pulse. He tells me he has a dozen loans with zero down payment, and some loans that will loan you enough so you can even finance the closing costs. Since he has been helping young people like us for more than 20 years, he has a lot of choices to get us into the home we wanted.

We met with Tim’s lender to establish our purchasing power. We went out with one of Tim's buyers agents and found a house that we both love. Tim wrote up the offer, coming to my restaurant for me to sign the papers. He negotiated the price, and now I know why he teaches negotiations for Prudential. Kathy McShane, another member of the Team for YOUR Dreams, took over from there. You can tell that she used to be a delivery room nurse, she takes such good care of everything. We are moving into our new home shown in the picture with the help of our friends at the Team for YOUR Dreams. When you have the right team guiding you, it’s a smooth journey.
